As of June 2016, Gary began working at 'AA Dog Rescue' based in Essex, England. Our wonderful celebrity Patron Vicki Michelle visited us recently, to promote the work that we do here at AADR.
Managed by Charley Nathan and Karen James, the rescue centre saves and rehomes dogs from local pounds, as well as dogs from Romania and Spain.
Often, the dogs that are brought into our shelter have suffered trauma, cruelty, and neglect, or are left to languish in local pounds, with no hope of a better life..

AA Dog Rescue has rehabilitated, cared for, and rehomed many such dogs, and every day it's wonderful to be able to put a little pink 'Reserved' tag onto a dog's collar, as a new visitor falls in love!

AA Dog Rescue is open to the public from 11-1pm, then from 3-6pm should you wish to meet one of the beautiful dogs in our care. (Closed all day Tuesday). You are also most welcome to turn up anytime from 9am, to volunteer as a dog walker, and to take some of our dogs out for a lovely countryside stroll..something which the dogs look forward to every day!

After living in Romania last year, Gary has seen the horrors that dogs endure, the cruelty and suffering with his own eyes, and in his own words, 'Working for AA Dog Rescue is Heaven'! Gary is now at the 'other end' so to speak, as the final journey of many dogs arriving from Romania to the UK allow him to work with, and care for those dogs arriving at the shelter. The end result is wonderful..seeing those dogs, once afraid, traumatised, and never before knowing what it means to have love in their lives, finally beginning to understand that their sad lives abroad are long gone, and they can now enjoy nice walks, lots of smiles from visitors, decent meals, care and attention, and eventually 'every dog has it's day' when a special person walks through our gates and decides to take one of our dogs home!

Please come visit the friendly staff and volunteers. We are all one happy family! The dogs would love to see you too! For details, visit
Devastating news! Maldon District Council has refused planning permission for us to continue as a dog rescue centre! AA Dog Rescue has so far, saved over 1500 dogs, and continues to rehome dogs on a daily basis, but our beautiful animals now face an uncertain future. The many local volunteers and staff who work hard to keep our dogs safe, cared for, and happy, are in tears! We have been given a deadline date to cease our 11 weeks! The future of our dogs now depends on you! Please sign and share the petition...
